About the Role

Days of Working Monday to Friday
Shift Pattern 08 00 to 16 30

This four year apprenticeship gives motivated individuals comprehensive training in maintaining and repairing essential building systems at prestigious museum sites. Building Services Engineering keeps buildings working efficiently; you will learn to plan and complete maintenance on ventilation, heating, water supply and other systems.

Key responsibilities
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on building services systems
• Complete remedial and corrective repairs when required
• Monitor and manage plant operation using building and energy management systems
• Fault find, diagnose, repair and maintain systems, components and equipment
• Inspect regularly to identify potential issues early
• Keep detailed records of work completed, including repairs and replacements
• Ensure compliance with current industry standards and regulations
• Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, site managers and other trades
• Work collaboratively with our experienced engineering teams

Work environment
You will be based at one of our client facilities, maintaining complex building systems.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Enthusiasm for building services engineering and problem solving
• Good communication skills for working with team members and site managers
• Detail oriented approach and commitment to quality
• Willingness to learn environmental regulations and industry standards
• English and mathematics qualifications that meet apprenticeship funding rules

Career Progression

Successful completion may lead to roles such as
• BEMS (Building Energy Management Systems) Controls Engineer
• Building Services Engineering Technician
• Building Services Engineering Senior Technician
• Building Services Engineering Site Management (degree)
