About the Role
Shift pattern Monday to Friday with on site weekend working and call out rota plus out of hours work when required to meet business needs
The Carpenter Fabric Technician is responsible for planned and reactive maintenance within a grade one listed historic building in central London. Duties include carpentry decorative and general building fabric repairs while supporting resident offices exhibitions and events.
Responsibilities
• Complete planned preventive maintenance on all fabric elements of the building
• Carry out reactive tasks as directed
• Prepare quotes for ad hoc fabric works and deliver the works inside or outside normal hours as needed
• Produce occasional reports on completed work
• Observe and follow company health safety and environmental procedures
• Act as an ambassador for Somerset House and OCS upholding their core values
Skills and Experience
Essential
• Time served carpenter
• City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in carpentry
• Experience working in heritage environments
• General building knowledge
• Prepared to work outside normal business hours
• Client facing with the ability to communicate at every level
Desirable
• Multi skilled with experience in additional trades and practices
Personal Profile
• Self motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Able to manage workload and deliver tasks on time
• Flexible with a positive can do attitude
