From Interview to Offer: How to Make a Great Impression

Being invited to an interview is already a success — it means your CV did its job. But now, it’s time to turn that opportunity into an offer. The interview stage is where you get to bring your skills, experience, and personality to life. Employers aren’t just looking for qualifications — they want to know if you’re the right fit for the team and the role.

Start by doing your research. Understand what the company does, who their clients are, and what their values look like. Try to find something recent or specific to mention during your conversation — it shows initiative and genuine interest.

Next, practise answering common interview questions using the STAR technique (Situation, Task, Action, Result). This structure helps you stay focused and give clear, impactful responses. Be ready to talk about both successes and how you’ve handled challenges — it demonstrates resilience and honesty.

Presentation still matters. Dress appropriately, make eye contact, and carry yourself with confidence. Have a few thoughtful questions prepared to ask the interviewer — like “What are the team’s biggest goals this year?” or “How do you support employee growth?” These kinds of questions show that you’re thinking long-term.

Lastly, always follow up. A short thank-you email within 24 hours can leave a strong impression and set you apart from other candidates who may not follow through.

At Roman Jobs, we help job seekers not just find interviews, but succeed in them. Whether it’s through our free coaching, mock interviews, or application support, we’re here to help you go from “applicant” to “hired.”
