About the Role

Shift pattern Varied rota across seven days, including evenings and weekends, dictated by the event schedule.

Reporting to the Security Event Manager for Arenas, the Deputy Security Event Manager helps plan and deliver events at BP Pulse Live Arena and Utilita Arena Birmingham, coordinating all security related matters and working closely with the wider NEC security teams. You will support large shows with operational planning and delivery, and act as Security Event Manager for smaller shows up to five thousand capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide security event management for allocated events from initial planning through delivery and post-event reporting
• Produce forecasts, costings, dot plans, security risk assessments and invoices to the required standard and deadlines
• Maintain strong relationships with the NEC event management team, local authorities, campus tenants and emergency services
• Continuously review processes to identify efficiencies and smarter ways of working
• Liaise with trade associations and other forums to share best practice and ensure effective service delivery
• Support management of the casual workforce, including recruitment needs, scheduling and HR liaison
• Set clear standards, culture and performance expectations for frontline arena teams
• Communicate regularly on safety matters to promote a free flow of ideas and maintain high morale
• Keep personal health and safety competence current through completing the Managing Safety programme and other company training

You Should Have

• Right to Work in the UK
• SIA Door Supervisor licence
• SIA CCTV licence
• Level 3 Spectator Safety qualification (Level 4 desirable)
• First Aid at Work certificate
• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification desirable
• Project management capability
• Major event security operations experience, including the development and implementation of event planning
• Proven leadership of large scale workforces
• At least two years of security management experience
• Diploma or certificate in Security Management or equivalent field desirable
• Flexibility for evening and weekend work driven by event requirements
