About the Role
The Campus Support Officer helps maintain a safe secure environment across the university estate through proactive patrols rapid incident response and friendly support for staff students and visitors.
Main duties and responsibilities
Security and patrols
• Conduct highly visible foot and mobile patrols to deter criminal activity and anti social behaviour
• Lock and unlock university buildings ensuring alarms and security systems are set correctly
Incident response and support
• Respond promptly to security incidents alarms and emergencies investigate causes and take appropriate action
• Produce accurate timely incident reports following university procedures
• Offer guidance support and assistance to staff students and visitors whenever required
Health and safety compliance
• Promote and uphold university safety standards and procedures
• Report health and safety concerns or breaches in line with company guidelines
Essential requirements
• Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding licence
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage a diverse community
• Calm professional manner when managing incidents
Desirable
• Previous experience in security or a similar role
• Full UK driving licence

Shifts Twelve hour shifts averaging two shifts per week schedule discussed at interview
