About the Role
Shift Pattern
Saturday 07:00 to 15:00
Sunday 07:00 to 15:00 and 18:00 to 23:30
Monday 18:00 to 23:30
Tuesday 18:00 to 23:30
Key responsibilities
• Support and lead day-to-day food preparation in the absence of the senior chef while maintaining site standards and quality
• Manage cooking processes at your station, ensuring dishes reach service on time
• Uphold safety, hygiene and correct use of all utensils and equipment
• Monitor ingredient levels and keep the kitchen stocked with fresh supplies
• Work closely with the culinary team to deliver consistent high-quality food and service
What We Are Looking For
• Proven experience as a chef, ideally within contract catering
• Level 2 qualification in Catering and Hospitality (or equivalent)
• Strong skills in multiple cooking methods, equipment and processes, with the ability to multitask under pressure
• Excellent teamwork, listening and communication abilities
• Sound knowledge of food-safety and sanitation standards, including receipt, storage, preparation and presentation
Ideal Candidate
• Right to Work in the UK
• City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ catering qualification required
• Level 2 food-hygiene certification desirable
• Strong customer-service focus and organisational skills
• Demonstrated capability to lead and manage teams effectively
• Competence with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Ability to manage budgets and control costs
